AYSO Futsal

AYSO is again partnering with 808 Futsal to run a futsal program for 5 weeks running on Saturdays June 1 through June 29. These 1 ½ hours sessions will be run jamboree style with players randomly placed on teams each week that will play a series of 8 minute mini games.

Futsal is played 5v5 which includes a keeper with free substitutions and no slide tackling.
8U and 10U will be played on a half court with 12U on the full court.

Players register individually at the Leeward AYSO Region web site and select the 2024 Spring Futsal Jamboree.  Be sure to use the login that you used to register for the fall season so you are not charged the $20 national fee again. The cost for current AYSO players is $65, $85 for new players. Session tentative start times each week are:
8U Coed - 8:30 AM
10U B &  10U G - 10:15 AM
12U B - noon
12U G - 1:45 PM

Players can wear any color shirt and shorts as scrimmage vests will be used to identify teams. Futsal balls will be provided at the site. Players will need water (no other beverages are allowed) shin guards and shoes with flat soles (no turf shoes or cleats allowed). Specific futsal shoes are available at the 808 Futsal Pro shop, but are not required.

The intent of this program is to provide an opportunity for AYSO players to play futsal in a fun player centric environment. While we will need volunteers each week to help keep time and manage the game (Help with substitutions and keep a general eye on games) there will not be any coaches or referees needed. The staff at 808 Futsal will explain the time keeper roles and game manager roles. These volunteers will stay on the same court for the session, the players however will be rotating around to different courts throughout the session. We will need 3 time keepers and 3 to 6 game managers each week for each session. Space is limited, register ASAP as information has been sent out to other regions.

808 Futsal is located in Kapolei at 1010 Munu Street

TOURNAMENTS - 2024-25 (all tournaments for 10U-19U except when noted)

The tournament coach for 10U to 19U teams is decided on by the Aiea Region. Coaches must have the required certification otherwise the region will not be able submit the team to the tournament. We encourage our 10U-12U coaches to consider tournaments. In the past, we have entered as many 4 10U boys teams in a tournament. All tournament teams are responsible for all tournament related fees.

The behavior of the coaches, players and team supporters are a consideration when determining the roster for a tournament team.

Important information for volunteers

1) Volunteer Application

Every volunteer (coach, referee, board member, team parent, etc.) must submit a Volunteer Application each year through their Region’s Sports Connect portal.

2) Sterling Background Check
The Volunteer Application is delivered to AYSO National Headquarters and to Sterling Background Checks. Sterling provides all volunteers with an email link to complete the annual background check which screens for volunteers’ suitability to work with our participants.

In addition to the annual Volunteer Application and Sterling Background Check, there are certain training requirements that must be completed by all volunteers.

1) CDC Concussion Awareness

The CDC Concussion Awareness training can be completed online through the AYSOU learning platform, under the “Training Library” tab, Course Category: Safe Haven.     Once you have successfully completed the course, your certification record will be updated

Alternatively, volunteers may take the HCAMP Brainspace ( training for "Youth/Community Coaches". Upon completion, download the Certificate of Completion and email the Certificate to your Regional Commissioner (or other person designated by your Regional Commissioner).

2) Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
The Sudden Cardiac Arrest training can be completed online through the AYSOU platform, under the “Training Library” tab, Course Category, Safe Haven. Once you have successfully completed the course, your certification record will be updated.

All volunteers must complete the currently approved AYSO’s Safe Haven course on a one time basis.  This course can be completed online through AYSO's learning platform, AYSOU, under the "Training Library" tab, Course Category, Safe Haven.

4) Safesport Course (Not on etrainu / Instructions Below)

The 2017 SafeSport Act has expanded Mandated Reporters to include adults authorized to interact with children.  Due to this expansion, that includes AYSO and it requires training on child abuse and expanded reporting.

Effective January 1, 20022, U.S. Soccer will no longer allow equivalent training, such as AYSO's Safe Haven, and has mandated SafeSport training.  The training must be completed by no later than September 1, 2022 for team activation for the Fall season.

AYSO volunteers will still be required to complete the currently-approved on-line Safe Haven course on a one time basis.
