Coaches and parents are Highly Encouraged to ATTEND this course. Referees are an IMPORTANT part of our program, the better we are educated on the Law's of the Game the more fun it is for Everyone. MOST important Our Kids are Enjoying the Game of Soccer due to your efforts. Every team should have at least three referees so please attend. For the U10 age group and above, if you want to volunteer to referee, are not certified and cannot make it to the 1st night of the basic referee class, you can go to aysou.org and take the Online course. Circuit Training Session
Circuit training will be held on at Ala Puumalu Field from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Field mechanics for the referee and assistant referee will be presented then practiced with a 10U scrimmage session.

Safe Haven • is now a separate certification class • if you received the Safe Haven certification through the Coach Safe Haven class, then you are okay • if you received the Safe Haven certification as part of the Basic Referee Class (pre 2011), then you would need to take the new Safe Haven class Special Pool of Region Referees This is aimed at referees interested in gaining experience in the U10 and older divisions however it is open to any interested volunteer. If you would like to improve your referee skills, we would like to offer you more opportunities to referee an AYSO game. While improving your skills, you will also be helping the Aiea Region to attain its goal of improving the quality of our region referee teams. Contact your Age Group Coordinator through your team's coach or contact one of our referee administrators, or contact our Regional Commissioner. Certification Courses Safe Haven- This course is required for all volunteers in AYSO, especially our center referees.This class covers child and volunteer protection.Volunteers will come out of this class with an understanding of the referee’s role in developing the complete child. Referee Courses AYSO has courses for a variety of levels, U8, Regional (U10/U12), Area (U12/U14), Section (U16/U19), and National. U8 and Regional Referee Courses are hosted by the Aiea Region and scheduled to take place in July/August. There are also courses for the Intermediate (Area), Advanced (Section), and National levels.Courses for Intermediate/Advanced announced in the fall and spring. The National Course is held normally during the summer.The Advance and National course is usually hosted by Section 7. U8 Referee Support Tent - Look for the tent near the backstop. U10 Referee Support Tent - look for the tent located between fields. Go there for pre-game tips and to ask questions. Mentoring - If you would like a referee to observe one of your games, please contact the referee support tent, your child's Age Group Coordinator or any Aiea Region board member.
